Chrome OS 100 gets new Launcher with improved search and added GIF maker March 31, 2022by Martin 6 Google is releasing version 100 of Chrome OS this week, and to celebrate, the company is sharing some of the big updates that came to the OS with that release. Among them is a new Launcher with better search capabilities, the ability to edit text with your voice, and the ability to create GIFs with the Camera app. In addition, there are some new features aimed at distance learning. Starting things off with the new Launcher, Google is rolling out a new design that no longer takes up the entire screen. Instead, it now opens in a corner like the Windows Start menu, leaving all your open programs visible. Additionally, the Launcher's search feature is now more capable.
When searching the web, you can now view detailed results C Level Executive List directly in the UI Launcher, instead of going to the browser. This means you can search for things like the weather and get more information faster. Search optimization goes beyond web searches though. Now, you can search for open windows and tabs used by browsers, so when you have a lot of them open at the same time, you can easily find the right tab. Additionally, you can search for Chrome OS shortcuts, such as how to take a screenshot. Another new addition in this release is the ability to edit text using your voice. This is based on the dictation feature, which allows you to type with your voice in any text field, but now you can use your voice to edit text that you have already written. For example, you can tell your Chromebook to delete a letter, move the cursor, and more.
